C. At the bottom, a collection of small granules. To the left and
right of these there are seen round, transparent, bubblelike formations
with small granules in them. How these bubblelike formations are developed
was not possible to follow under the microscope. Nearly all erythrocytes
show thorn-apple formations as signs of parasitic attack.
