same as Figure 7. By means of a magnification
of 1:1200 and interference contrast it is seen that in the lower half
of the bright part the blood corpuscles have degenerated and have
assumed a polymorphic appearance. In addition, a tight growth of mobile
microbe-like formations are seen that seem to be able to attack the
blood cells.
